Lloyd Rowland was widely regarded as one of the best athletes in the area while at Savannah Christian. 

Junior-  named the SCPS Best Offensive Back with 1203 yards on 179 carries(6.7 ypg). 

Senior- he broke the current Raider single season rushing record with 1609 yards on 169 carries (9.5 ypg). The previous record had held for 13 years and several State Championships. He also, added 9 catches for 336 yards. He finished the season with 132 points, just 2 shy of the school record.

Basketball- as a Junior he was named the Most Improved Player. During his Senior campaign he averaged 12 points per game and was named the Best Rebounder. 

Baseball- primarily a catcher. He was named the Most Improved Player for his Sophomore season. 

Junior season he contributed to Track & Field as a sprinter and threw discus. 

1990 Ashley Dearing Award Winner

After High School he was a Running Back at Georgia Southern for two season. Next he joined the UGA Baseball team for 2 season. He finished his primary athletic career with the Lubbock Crickets who were the 1995AA Texas - Louisiana League Champions as a catcher.
