Theater

Theater at Savannah Christian is essential for cultivating creativity, emotional expression, and collaboration among students.
It provides a platform for them to explore and present faith-based themes, fostering spiritual growth while developing valuable skills in communication, empathy, and teamwork. Theater teaches students how to engage with stories, including biblical narratives, in a meaningful way, encouraging them to use their talents to glorify God and positively impact their community.

  • Lower School (PK-5)

    In lower school, students are introduced to the world of theater through creative play, storytelling, and role-playing. Students explore basic acting techniques, character development, and public speaking skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through performances and classroom activities, they gain confidence, teamwork, and creativity while learning how to express themselves and glorify God through drama. Students in first through fifth grade may audition for an annual lower school fall musical. 
  • Middle School (6-8)

    The Middle School theater program at Savannah Christian builds on foundational acting skills, focusing on character development, performance techniques, and script interpretation. Students may choose to take drama as an elective in middle school. In class, they engage in hands-on experiences, including school productions and improvisational exercises. Through collaboration and creativity, they gain confidence, improve communication skills, and learn to express themselves while glorifying God through the art of theater. Middle school students may audition for an annual middle/upper school spring musical.
  • Upper School (9-12)

    In upper school, students are offered advanced training in acting, stagecraft, and performance, with opportunities to participate in full-scale productions. Students refine their skills in character development, script analysis, and stage. The program emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and leadership, preparing students for professional theater or further study. Through their performances, students learn to communicate powerful messages, glorify God, and use their talents to positively impact their community. Upper school students may audition for an annual middle/upper school spring musical.
