Class Rules and Policies :
I. Quarterly grades will be averaged according to the following percentages:
A. Tests: 50% (red ink) C. Homework Checks: 15%
B. Class work : 30% (green ink) D. Notebook Quizzes: 5% (pink ink)
II. Tests:
A. Tests will be given 3-4 times per quarter. The tests are corrected in class and
placed in folders in the classroom.
B. Worksheets for each chapter will be completed as part of our review for exams.
Each completed worksheet will be worth one bonus point on the exam.
C. Make-up tests:
1. Make-up tests due to an excused absence will be given within two school days.
Unusual circumstances will be handled on an individual basis.
2. If a student is absent the day before a test, he will take the test with the class.
This is due to the fact that the day before a test is a review day.
III. Classwork:

IV. Notebooks:
A. A notebook is required of each student.
B. The notebook cannot be spiral. You must be able to add papers to it.
C. All class notes, homework, and classwork are to be included.
D. All papers must be dated.
E. A notebook quiz will be given approximately once a week. This will consist of
five questions that can only be answered if the notebook contains all assignments.
F. Notebooks will be collected at the end of each semester. Two bonus points will
be added to the exam grade for a complete notebook.
V. Homework:
Homework will be checked at the beginning of class each day. This is not to
grade accuracy, but to check effort.
VI. Classroom information:
A. Daily supplies:
1. Loose-leaf paper (wide-ruled is preferred)
2. A pencil – Any assignment written in ink will not receive full credit.
B. Three tardies to class = one Wednesday

D. Cough drops may be used only if the student has a dated note from a parent.
VII. Parent notification of failing averages:
If a student is failing during the second half of any quarter, a computer print-out
will be sent home each Friday until the end of the quarter or until the student has
a passing grade. This form should be signed and returned to me the following Monday.
VIII. Tutoring:
A. The advanced math students in Mu Alpha Theta offer free tutoring from
of this service as needed.

(Test Avg.) (.5) = a
