Course Description:
SCPS requires four math credits for graduation. Those courses must include Geometry and
Algebra II. Algebra I taken in the 8th
grade may count as one of your credits if your school awards a Carnegie
unit. The math courses are as follows:
GEOMETRY
The purposes of this course are to develop the
student's understanding of how geometry is evolved through the use of
postulates, definitions, and theorems, and to review algebraic skills and show
their applications to geometric situations.
Length: One
year Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite:
Algebra I (With teacher recommendation, this course may be taken the
same year as the student takes Algebra II.)
