Supplies needed:

1. A 8 1/2” x 11” ( 9.5” x 11.5”) spiral bound Sketch Pad. Barnett’s on Derenne Avenue has ordered a supply of these just for my students. They can also be found at: Michael’s, Office Depot, Staples and any art supply company. These will be used in Design I, II and III.

2. #2 pencils or drawing pencils (if you have them) You will use pencils everyday!

3. $2.00 for Scholastic Art Magazine

4. A three prong notebook for keeping notes and handouts.

Class Rules:

1. I will be listened to.

3. I will be taken seriously.

4. I will be expected to take responsibility for my actions.

Students are expected to follow the rules for classroom behavior as printed in the Student Handbook

Severe Clause: Student will be referred to the Principal for serious problems.

Assignments:

All assignments will be explained in detail and you will be given ample time to complete the assignment. Ten points will be deducted per day for late projects. There will be art vocabulary work sheets and tests. Each student will be required to write a report or a PowerPoint presentation about an artist and make one visit to a gallery to critique a painting. We will be taking field trips to galleries and the Savannah College of Art & Design. Students will be required to submit one piece of artwork for the spring art show “Reflections.”

How Will My Art Work Be Graded?

All artwork is graded on three main principles:

1. Completion of the assignment

2. Following Directions

3. Neatness and Creativity

All projects will include additional criteria that will relate directly to each individual project.
