Dear Parents:

We will be studying various print and craft techniques in Art & Design III. Students will have the opportunity to increase their understanding of contemporary photography and the medium in general. They will explore print making in a historical context. They will explore arts and cultures from other countries as well as native American crafts. Students will examine the influences of cultural factors upon the development of crafts from different societies. Students will also be introduced to computer technology in the production of art and designs.

Students will need access to a 35 mm camera. An adjustable focus is preferred, however, a fixed focus will do. They will need to have two rolls of black and white film developed. They will also need acess to a digital camera. A detailed syllabus will be sent home on photography

We are in need of old magazines, reams of colored paper, yarn, old fabric, beads, feathers, macrame cord, needles, thread, sewing supplies and any arts and crafts supplies that you would like to donate. We also need old 35 mm cameras for our photography classes.

I invite you to visit our classroom and ask you to encourage your students to enter his/her artwork in our spring celebration of the arts “Reflections.” If you are willing to help in our classroom or have special talents you would like to share, please fill out the form below:
