May 22, 2005- Homework assignment for Art & Design III

Research a famous work of art on the internet. Go to the school website at savcps.com. Use the index and go to the faculty pages. Scroll down the names until you find “Ruth Mathis.” Click on my name and it will bring up my webpage. Click on the “contact me” lilnk at the bottom and email me the URL address of the artwork. Make sure your name is in the subject line or the body of the email.

Use the “Art Criticism” form and analyze this work of art. In step one you will just list the items you see. In step 2 you will analyze everything that you see. In step three you will interpret what you see and in step 4 you will make a judgement. Make sure that you do not use your opinion until step 4.

You must obtain a wooden item for our project on Mosaics. Michaels has a great supply of wooden items. The item must be no smaller than 5” x 7”.
