Mr. Graham’s Classroom Policies and Procedures
1.
Each
student should come to class ready to learn every day with his/her textbook,
notebook, paper and a pen or pencil. Get these items together on your desk BEFORE
the bell rings. Non-science materials must be left at the rear of the room.
The aisles must be kept free.
2.
Students
must be respectful to others and responsible for their own work.. Disruptive
behavior will not be tolerated. Students are expected to adhere to all of the
rules and decorum as outlined in the students’ handbook.
3.
When
a student is absent, he/she will have the number of days he/she misses class to
make up any work. It is the student’s responsibility to find out what was
missed and what must be made up.
Homework assignments will be posted on Monday and remain up through
Friday. Get notes from a reliable
classmate, and get handouts, etc. from me immediately upon your return to
class.
4.
You
are expected to be present for announced tests. If you know in advance that you will be absent on a test day, let
me know so arrangements can be made to schedule a make-up test or a test prior
to the absence. SCIENCE TEST DAY IS
THURSDAY.
5.
Homework
will be assigned regularly and will be due at the beginning of the next class
period. Lab reports are due two class
days following the completion of the lab work.
6.
There
will be at least one test or quiz per week on material covered in class and
assigned readings. Tests and quizzes will be returned and discussed in
class. You are to file quizzes in your
notebook; tests will be collected and placed in your student file.
7.
If
you are having trouble with the course work, please ask for help. I will post my tutorial schedule on the
bulletin board.
8.
Lectures
will be informal. You are encouraged to
participate by asking and answering questions.
Since the lectures will not be taken strictly from the text, you will
need to take notes.
9.Grades will be based on
the following criteria:
Tests 50%
Labs/quizzes 30%
Homework 20%
