Mrs. Barbara Lanier
  • "You learn from questions as much as you do from answers."
Mrs . Lanier believes in learning from mistakes. It is for this reason that homework is the most important part of math, and yet she counts it the least toward the final grade. "Learn from homework errors so they don't occur again on tests and quizzes."

Homework Policy

Work must be done in pencil.

Work goes in a spiral notebook.

(A complete notebook will count as a major test grade "A".)

Two incompletes equal one zero.

Each zero takes one point off the test average.

Three zeros can be made up; however, a 350 word report must be included. Report topics change every quarter. First quarter-Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.

If there are no zeros at the end of the quarter, then three points are added to the test average before the exam.

Grading Policy

Quizzes count once.

Tests count twice.

Test average is 80% of the final grade.

Exam is 20% of the final grade.
