1. All SCPS Middle School teachers offer free tutoring to students on material currently being covered in class. My tutoring times are in the mornings between 8:00 and 8:20. The student can also make an appointment with me for help with some ongoing problem. (I can not tutor on the 1st and 3rd Mondays due to faculty meetings.)

2. I record HW grades daily in my gradebook, but I only transfer about one grade per week to my computer to be used in determining a HW grade for the 9-weeks.

3. We are all human. Sometimes we forget to do an assignment or carelessly leave a completed one at home or in the locker. I give 2 “free” HW zero grades. No questions asked. The student does need to turn it in the next class period for a grade. A student may never just not do a lesson. This book builds upon previous lessons. Each lesson needs to be covered. After 2 HW zero grades, the penalties begin to be severe. The HW must be made up, but the student will not be eligible for the extra credit that is given to students who have done all of their assignments on time. (Please refer to the Math Memo from the first day of school as to how the penalties will be assessed.)
