(5/2/08) Savannah Christian celebrates the success of our Christian cadet, Sarah Cintron, as she has been
awarded a full ROTC scholarship to The University of Alabama. Sarah is a recipient of the
Air Force ROTC Commander's Leadership Scholarship, which is awarded to only one student out of 12,000
applicants nationwide.
The Air Force ROTC Unit at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa selected Sarah out of 144
qualified top ranked students. This four-year scholarship will cover Sarah’s tuition and fees while she plans
to major in biology, as well as a monthly stipend for Cintron.
The Cintron family boasts a military background, and is a proud supporter of Sarah, as she follows
in her father’s footsteps by joining the U.S. Armed Service. Lieutenant Colonel David Cintron of the U.S. Army Central
now serves his country in Iraq for his seventh tour. Sarah’s mother Nancy, her sister, grandparents, and aunt
were there to watch as Captain Landers of the University of Alabama Air Force Attachment handed her a certificate
for a full scholarship to attend college.
As a scholastic and athletic student at Savannah Christian School, Sarah has participated in numerous
activities that include the Key Club, Fine Arts Club, Future Secretaries of America, Political Club, and
Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participates in the Armstrong Chamber Orchestra, and the
Varsity Cross Country and Track teams for SCPS. Sarah’s high school resume puts her at the top of her class,
and she has been listed in the Who's Who among American High School Students yearbook for four years.
