(April 9, 2008) - Emily Corish signed her official “Letter of Intent” today to play softball for Augusta State University.
Known as one of the most dominant pitchers in the Coastal Empire, this left-handed pitcher has worked very hard to perform well on and off the field.
During her senior season, Emily threw three “no hitters” and broke the single season strike out record for the Savannah Christian Raiders with 209 strike outs this season. Her career win/loss record for SCPS was 53 wins and 17 losses.
Adding to her accolades, Emily was selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player in both her junior and senior years and has lettered in softball all four years. In addition to being named 1st team All Region Pitcher, Emily was named 1st team All Coastal Empire Pitcher. She also received an Honorable Mention as All-State Pitcher and was named The Dawg House Grille Female Prep Athlete of the Month for November 2007.
Touring the campus and meeting the faculty at Augusta State were both important factors for Emily in choosing this four year university in addition to meeting the successful coaches and players with ASU’s dynamic softball program. Aside from playing softball for the Lady Jaguars, Emily’s time at Augusta State University will be spent preparing for a career in the medical field. Majoring in biology, Emily will focus on a career as a nurse or as a physician’s assistant.
