All SCPS family, friends, and alumni are invited to listen to the blessings and triumphs of Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Bruce Matthews on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Bruce will be the guest speaker at Chapel Service beginning at 10:45 am, followed by an autograph signing and photos.
Bruce Matthews has set NFL history by playing more games than any other full-time position player. He has played in pro-football 19 seasons and 14 pro bowl games, totaling 296 games, never missing a game despite any injuries. Bruce beats the previous record of 278 games, set by his brother, Clay Matthews who played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons.
Matthews dedicates his career successes all to the grace of God, and when inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame says, “I’ve never been more aware of how much the Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me and loves me than at this very moment, and I want to thank Him again because that is where the credit is due.”
Come listen to Bruce Matthews’ story of triumph as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes brings a testament of God’s work to Savannah Christian School. Seating is limited to SCPS family, friends, and alumni. For more information, contact SCPS Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Wendi Patrick, at wpatrick@savcps.com or call 234-1653, ext. 107, or cell 661-4631.
