Four Savannah Christian School standout student athletes signed Letters of Intent to play baseball for three different
colleges today, Friday, February 1st. Over 100 parents, fellow students from SCPS and surrounding school gathered to
watch these outstanding athletes sign.
"For the last three seasons these four players have been the backbone of the Raider Baseball team,”
commented Doyle Kelley, Principal of Savannah Christian. “Their leadership on and off the field has been exceptional
and they are the products of their terrific parents and our coaches,” he went on to say.
Jonathan Hester is a two-time 1st Team All-Region, All-City baseball player,
who is used to beating all the odds. He has broken the Savannah Christian baseball all-time record for Runs Batted In (RBI),
and has tied 1st Place in two categories in the SCPS Baseball Hall of Fame for the Highest Batting Average
as well as the SCPS Baseball Home Run List. Jonathan signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball for Middle Georgia College,
where he will study engineering. The son of Cliff and Joy Hester of Coffee Bluff, Jonathan will have a fellow Raider
teammate playing for Middle Georgia College, Jordan Hill.
Jordan Hill is a four-year letterman for Savannah Christian in baseball and a three-year letterman
in football. This multi-talented athlete signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Middle Georgia College
Warriors. Jordan has been named one of the top student athletes in the 2006 Who’s Who Among America’s High School Students,
awarded the 1st Team All-Region Catcher and ranked on the list of the Georgia Dugout Club in 2007 and 2008.
With a passion for helping others, Jordan has been a youth coordinator for the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk in Savannah in 2006
and 2007. At Middle Georgia College, Jordan will continue his efforts and pursue a career in physical therapy. Looking on
as he signed were his proud parents, Billy and Carla Hill of Guyton, Georgia.
Nate Sisolak committed to play baseball for Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia. In 2006,
Nate ranked among fellow scholars on the National List of Who’s Who Among America’s High School Students
and continued his successes throughout his high school career. As the 2007 region 2AA Player of the Year,
Nate has been recognized as a top player for numerous teams including the 2007 Savannah Morning News First Team
All-Coastal Empire. This year Nate has also been selected as a contender for the 2008 Georgia Dugout Club Preseason
All-State First Team. He was joined by his parents Darla and Bill Sisolak.
Kyle Jones signed with the University of South Carolina at Beaufort as a preferred
walk-on player. Having lettered all four years for Savannah Christian in baseball, Kyle has received the Matthew Brag
Memorial Award his sophomore and junior years for his sportsmanship. His proud parents, Freddie and Elaine Jones
looked on as he and the other three SCPS students signed.
