Caldwell Signs With Presbyterian College
SCPS Senior takes her softball game to the next level, 11/17/07

Savannah Christian Preparatory School Senior Becca Caldwell signed a letter of intent on Friday, November 16, 2007, to play softball for Presbyterian College. Presbyterian College - located in Clinton, South Carolina - is an NCAA Division 1 school and a member of the Big South Athletic Conference.

Trusted and respected by her teammates, Becca Caldwell played centerfield the last two years doing an outstanding job and serving as a true leader on the winning SCPS team. Always giving 100% during practice and during the games, Becca has lettered the last four years in softball and led the team each year in stolen bases.

Becca's achievements and statistics include:

  • Batting Stats
    • Batting Average = .350 (2nd highest on team)
    • At bats = 103 (highest on team)
    • Runs Scored = 34 (highest on team)
    • Runs Batted In, RBI's = 18
    • Base on Balls, BB's (walks) = 12 (highest on team)
    • Stolen Bases = 16 (highest on team)
    • On Base % = .417 (2nd highest on team)
    • Slugging % = .417 (4th highest on team)
  • Fielding Stats
    • Total Chances = 33
    • Put Outs = 29
    • Assists = 1
    • Errors = 3
    • Fielding % = 0.909
  • Achievements
    • 2004 – Lettered Varsity Softball and Track, led team in stolen bases, softball Team 5th in State Tournament
    • 2005 – Lettered Varsity Softball and Track, led team in stolen bases
    • 2006 – Lettered Varsity Softball and Track, Most Improved Player Award, led team in stolen bases
    • 1st team All Region 2AA outfield, Honorable Mention All State, softball Team 1st in region 2AA, 4th in State Tournament, named MVP of girls’ track team
    • 2007- USSSA Elite World Series 18 Under- Third Place, ISA “B” 16 Under- World Series Champions WFC “B” 16 Under- World Series Champions, USSSA 16U “A” World Series- Third Place

This outstanding athlete has also excelled in the classroom. Ranked in the top 20% of her class, she is an honor roll student at SCPS taking numerous honors classes and AP courses. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Key Club. She diligently serves as an Acolyte at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Savannah and also volunteers as their thrift store. Becca is the daughter of Chip and Paula Caldwell of Savannah, Georgia.
