Long before students and parents fill the hallways at both the Chatham Parkway Campus and DeRenne Avenue campus,
the teachers and staff members of Savannah Christian gather to prayerfully begin a new school year.
Before the furniture is uncovered, the computers turned on or the textbooks unpacked,
every member of the Savannah Christian Preparatory School faculty and staff meets on the Chatham Parkway campus
to open the year first with prayer for the students, their families, the teachers, the bus drivers,
all support staff and the learning opportunities that will present themselves over the next year.
During year's Back-to-school Breakfast, Mr. Yancey, our headmaster, gave every
employee the charge for the year. Taking an intentional look our the school’s bold mission statement
and vision statement, he asked each person to take a heart-felt look at how they contribute to both
the mission and vision statement and what they believe to be their personal mission for the school year ahead.
We also took the opportunity to recognize numerous staff members who have served 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years at SCPS.
With gifts of silver, crystal and even rubies, the follwoing staff members were recognized for their service to SCPS:
