Derenne Avenue Lower School celebrated Grandparent’s Day on Friday, October 13th. The pro
“King of the Jungle”, was presented to over 300 excited grandparents and special friends. Mrs. Ivey’s fifth
grade class presented the show, while K – 4th grades were the ensemble, singing and dancing in the background.
After the program, the grandparents and special friends were treated to a wonderful reception and their own
personal tour of the Lower School. Each child had a “scavenger hunt” card which helped them direct guests
to their classroom, the Media Center, the Computer Lab and, finally, to the gym for the reception.
Congratulations to Mrs. Ivey and her class for a great performance and thanks to all of the other
Lower School students for an entertaining program! A great time was had by all!
