Holly Lick, mother of SCPS students Wesley (6th) and Parker (3rd), is enjoying success with the HGTV television show “National Open House,” a new show that compares and contrasts home prices in different cities around the country.
According to Holly, “In just 3 airings, we have already improved on the ratings of our lead-in, “House Hunters” (a feat no HGTV show has EVER accomplished), and have held a steady audience of over a million viewers for each new episode. For a Monday night cable show, this is FANTASTIC! HGTV has already rewarded Pie Town Production’s success with a renewal for 26 more episodes!”
The Pie Town Productions team interviewed a number of Savannah agents for the show. Although the extensive audition and interviews came during the busy days leading up to our 2006 SCPS Gala, which Holly co-chaired, HGTV picked Holly as their preferred Savannah agent. The production team filmed eight shows in town in March and April.
“It took all day to shoot each thirty-minute show,” says Holly. “I had no script, and if the wind blew wrong, a car went by, or they wanted me to repeat or change something, we would re-shoot the scene.”
Holly has been receiving e-mails and phone calls from all over the country. “Some are comments about the show,” says Holly, “but many are seeking more information about Savannah.”
