Savannah Christian Preparatory School Senior Joe Sutton has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Andrew
College.
A catcher with only one passed ball and no errors in 26 games on the 2004 season, Joe has been an important
part of the SCPS baseball team since his Freshman year. Batting .373 last season, Joe received both a Golden
Glove award and the Matthew Bragg Award in 2003.
Playing in the off-season for the Chain Organization for the last eight years, Joe participated in the 2003 Wood
Bat World Series, winning a Golden Glove award that year, and was on the 2004 Southeast World Series Championship team.
Located in Cuthbert, Ga., Andrew College is a private, two-year, Liberal Arts College related to The United
Methodist Church, with about 350 resident students. The Andrews College Fighting Tigers compete in Region XVII of
the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association (GJCAA),
which is considered to be one of the strongest baseball conferences in the country.
Joe is the son of Hal and Kathy Sutton of Georgetown.
