Savannah Christian Preparatory School Senior Grant Roszkowiak has signed a letter of intent to play football for
Wheaton College.
A three-year football letterman, the 6-foot-2, 250-pounder was voted Best Defensive Lineman for both the 2003
and 2004 seasons. As a Junior he received First Team honors in Region 2AAA at Defensive Tackle as well as
Honorable Mention at Offensive Guard. He also received Coastal Empire Honorable Mention at Defensive Tackle.
As a Senior, Grant was a Region 3AA First Team selection at Defensive Tackle and Honorable Mention AA All-State
Offensive Tackle. He was also named to the All Coastal Empire First Team as a Defensive Lineman. A Wendy’s
High School Heisman nominee, Grant was selected “Student Athlete of the Month” by the Savannah Sports Monthly;
was named “Player of the Week” by the Savannah Quarterback Club and was a finalist in the All American Scholarship
Program. Grant also lettered in track the last three years and was voted MVP his junior year. He holds the school
shot put record at 47’6.”
Among other extracurricular activities, Grant was a member of the “Botball” (Robotics) Team, has tutored students
in Math for three years and took top honors in the 2003-04 Savannah Science Seminar. He has acted in SCPS drama
productions the last two years and is an active member of Savannah Christian Church, teaching Kid’s church and
participating in mission trips, youth group and other volunteer activities.
Founded in 1860, Wheaton College is a private, interdenominational Christian college located in Wheaton, Illinois.
With approximately 2,900 students from all 50 states and 52 foreign countries, the Wheaton Thunder participates in
NCAA Division III.
Grant is the son of James and Melinda Roszkowiak of Wilmington Island.
