Ten students from Savannah Christian Preparatory School (SCPS) have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the
College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievements on Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.
Only 17 percent of the more than one million high school students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a
sufficiently high level to merit recognition as AP Scholars. Students took AP Exams in May 2004 after completing
challenging college-level courses at SCPS. The College Board recognized the following SCPS students based on AP
exam scores:
Lauren LeBlanc and Erin Watters qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award
by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 (out of 5) on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on
five or more of these exams.
Julie Champion and Christina Melton qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an
average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Examinations with grades of 3
or higher. They are: Nick Biddle, Thomas Daniel, Tricia Flynn, Russ Kirks,
Anna Moise and Meredith Perrie.
Of this year’s award recipients, two are currently seniors at SCPS (Thomas Daniel, Russ Kirks).
These students are completing additional AP Courses offered at SCPS this year and could possibly earn
another AP Scholar Award. The remaining award winners are summa cum laude (Julie Champion, Anna Moise)
and magna cum laude graduates from Savannah Christian Preparatory School’s Class of 2004. Their outstanding
AP Exam scores qualified them to receive credit hours and/or advanced placement at their respective universities.
SCPS offers the following AP courses: AP Language/Composition, AP Literature/Composition, AP Calculus AB,
AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics, AP European History, AP U.S. History, AP World History.
