Homecoming Queens 2004
Boxxe Crowned Queen, Raiders Win
www.savcps.com, 09/27/2004

Congratulations to Lindsey Boxxe, our 2004 Homecoming Queen! Kandance Douglas was First Runner Up, and Rebekah Nale was Second Runner Up.

“Spirit Week” preceeded Homecoming as students excitedly decorated, practiced and dressed up in preparation for Friday night’s festivities and the football game at Westside Stadium.

Upper School students participated in costume and door decorating contests and hosted a bonfire and pep rally on Thursday night. The Booster Club provided a hot dog dinner to all who attended. On Friday, Upper School cheerleaders, football players and the marching band traveled to the DeRenne Avenue Campus to hold a pep rally for the Lower and Middle School students, all of whom were dressed in their best red and white spirit wear.

Alumni Tailgate Friday night before game time, SCPS and the Alumni Association hosted the annual Alumni Tailgate dinner. Alumni from many classes came with their families and joined together to fellowship, reminisce and enjoy a delicious, free BBQ dinner prepared by John Henderson ’87, owner of Coach’s Corner, Cousin Vinny’s Pizza and Driftaway Café-Wilmington.

Homecoming DanceAt halftime, the homecoming court was introduced. The court was made up of one male and female member of each grade, elected by their classmates. Additionally, 13 representatives were nominated by the 13 senior football players to represent them on the court. Following the presentation of the Homecoming court and announcement of the winners, the Raiders went on to win the homecoming game against Tattnall County 26-6, improving to 6-0 on the season. Following the game, Upper School students returned to campus for the annual Homecoming Dance.
