Savannah Coaching Legend Honored

Miller Coach Miller Savannah Christian’s own Coach Jack Miller has been presented with the city’s highest sports achievement, the John F. Hodges “OASIS” (Outstanding Achievement for Sports in Savannah) Award. Coach Miller and former Savannah High and Windsor Forest coach Earl Etheridge were the co-recipients of the award, given each year to area individuals or organizations that best exemplify excellence through their achievements in sports in Savannah. More than 400 people were in attendance at the Greater Savannah Sports Council Annual Banquet at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa on February 17, 2003 to see the two “Savannah Coaching Legends” honored.

Coach Miller has 650 combined wins as head coach in football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf and track in a coaching career that spans 48 years. He has received three Milestone Awards from the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association: the "100th Win" as a head coach, the "20-year Award" as a head coach and the "40-year Award" for football coaching.

Coach Miller has served as head football coach at Savannah Christian Preparatory School since 1996. He also serves as coach of the track team. "I'm getting to the end of the bench right now," said Miller.
