Barnabas Awards-April/May2010 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kim Hayes

The Barnabas Award winners for April and May were chosen based on the values taught to us by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.  It is here, in Matthew chapter 5, that Jesus began His sermon with what are known as the Beatitudes.  These are the blessings that Jesus promises to those that live in a way that honors Him.  Those that are humble, meek, forgiving, peacemakers, suffering a loss, seeking righteousness and showing mercy-they receive eternal rewards.  Congratulations to each of our students that have shown these characteristics in their daily life!
