SCPS students lined the street this morning to cheer on the Lady Raider basketball team as they loaded the bus for their trip to the Semi-finals in Macon. The girls will play Southwest Atlanta Christian at the Macon Coliseum at 4:00 p.m. today. As the only local team still competing and advancing to the final four, the Lady Raiders are hoping to pull out a win today and continue on to the State Championship!
The Lady Raiders Basketball team defeated Calvary to earn this spot in the State Final Four playoffs, and they had previously defeated the No. 2 ranked team in the state (SCPS stuns Randolph-Clay). |

Barnabas Characteristic for February: LOVE
Jesus gives us the command to love one another just as He has loved us. John 13:35 says, "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." If we truly love God, we will love His people. This kind of love is an action, not an emotion. This kind of love will help us to forgive, to show mercy, to serve, to befriend, to love the unlovable and to live unselfishly. Believing in God's amazing love, and realizing what He did for us by sending His only Son to die on the cross for a people that didn't love Him, will cause us to express this kind of love to our neighbors. We have wonderful students here at SCPS that are showing us they are disciples of Jesus. We see their love. These are the Barnabas winners for the month of February . . . |
