Our 2005 Broadway musical production of the Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera "The Pirates of Penzance" involved 72 SCPS students in the 3rd through the 12th grades. More than 1200 people attended our three performances March 4th-6th at the Trustees Theater in downtown Savannah.

The 1980's smash run of 772 performances on Broadway, as well as film and road company versions, included such luminaries as Kevin Kline, Rex Smith, Linda Ronstadt, Angela Lansbury, Pam Dawber, Andy Gibb and James Belushi. The two-act rated G show spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the dictates of honor and duty.

Our excellent cast included riveting performances by seniors Carson Britt, Garrett Huxford, Zach Nesbit, Grant Roszkowiak, and Ed Udvadia. These students contributed a great deal toward successful drama productions during their educational careers at SCPS and have a helped lay a strong foundation for future productions.
