1982
Katerine Leigh DeYoungKatherine Leigh DeYoung and Ira James Ryan, II were married November 15, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah. The bride chose her sisters, Karen DeYoung Stull ’81 and Laura DeYoung Thompson ‘86, as matrons of honor. After a reception at the Savannah Yacht Club, the couple honeymooned in Napa Valley and San Francisco. The couple lives in Savannah.

1983
Thanks to the Class of 1983 for donating more than $1600 to the SCPS Capital Campaign. Representatives from the class presented Doyle Kelley with a check at their 20-year Class Reunion in November during the final home football game of the season. The donation was made in memory of classmates Julie Jones and Gary McGinty and in honor of the Class of 1983.

1984
Kent Wickham was appointed Recorder’s Court Judge for the city of Norcross, Ga. in January 2004. Kent runs a small general practice law firm in Norcross where he and his wife Rosemary have resided for the last five years.

1988
Mesaros twinsJohn Mesaros and wife Dee Dee proudly announce the birth of their twin daughters, Madeline Claire (6 lbs 12 oz), and Mallory Catherine (6 lbs 3 oz) born on February 19, 2004. The girls’ big brothers are twins Mark and Matt Mesaros, who will be graduating from SCPS in May!

Lana Avi WilliamsShaler Williams and his wife Mina are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Lana Avi Williams on February 2, 2004. Shaler and Mina met in Yokosuka, Japan and were married in 2000. He works as a Technical Solutions Engineer for National Starch & Chemical and she is an interpreter for Ricoh Electronics. They currently live in Loganville, Ga.

1993
Jones childrenJulie Carver Jones and her husband Jeff announce the birth of their second daughter, Logan McKenzie on May 20, 2003. Landon, who is four, attends SCPS Lower School. Julie is in her 7th year at SCPS, where she coaches volleyball and soccer. Jeff is in sales at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

1994
Ken Hayes and wife Kim announce the arrival of their first child, Anna Elizabeth Hayes, on April 14, 2004. Kim teaches Bible at the Middle School and happy grandma is Diane Hayes, our Lower School secretary.

Jeremy Stephen Keich and Linsey SmoakJeremy Stephen Keich and Linsey Smoak Evans of Albany, Ga. were married March 27, 2004 at Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas. Both are graduates of the University of Georgia. After a wedding trip in the Bahamas and Miami, the couple lives in Atlanta.

1996
Jennifer Anne FerraroJennifer Anne Ferraro and Jason Payne Ball were married on February 7, 2004 at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. Megan Ferraro ’00 was her sister’s maid of honor and Caroline Elizabeth Haynes ’96 served as a bridesmaid. Following a honeymoon in Key West, the couple lives in Savannah.

1997
Molly Muschamp and Lawrence Craig GannawayMolly Muschamp and Lawrence Craig Gannaway were married on January 31, 2004 at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. Molly chose Lauren Lantz ’97 as her maid of honor. Among her bridesmaids was Katie Crawford ’97. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Savannah Yacht Club. The couple honeymooned on Cumberland Island and now resides in Atlanta.

1998
Abby Johnson graduated from Georgia Southern University in December 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She plans to attend graduate school.

1999
Anna Elizabeth BurgstinerAnna Elizabeth Burgstiner and Christopher Alan Witherington were married on March 27, 2004 in Savannah. Jessica Alcorn Huffman ’99 was matron of honor. Among the bridesmaids were Ashley Oglesby ’99 and Sarah Usher ’98. Among the groomsmen were James Huffman ’99 and Anna’s brother William Burgstiner, 2012. After a reception at the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom, the couple left for a honeymoon in the Grand Cayman Islands. They live in Savannah.

Joey Byerly graduated from North Georgia College and State University on December 19, 2003 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He is attending the Armor Officer Basic Course at Ft. Knox, Ky. While at North Georgia, Joey was president of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, member of the executive council of Alpha Phi Sigma honor society, board member for Lumpkin County's Relay for Life, student orientation leader and a member of the Corps of Cadets.

Brooke Cornwell (BSA) and Danny Russell (BS and BSChem) graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2004.

Kimberly Annette FieldsKimberly Annette Fields and Christopher Tyson Phillips of Albany were married on March 13, 2004, at Southside Baptist Church in Savannah. Kim is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and is employed by Underground Atlanta. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and is employed by Cox Communications. The bride chose her sister Emily Catherine Fields ‘01, as the maid of honor. Melanie Page Consos ‘97, cousin of the bride, and Sarah Ann Ewaldsen ’99 were among the bridesmaids. After a reception at The First City Club, the couple left for a honeymoon in Grand Cayman Island and will reside in Marietta, Georgia.

Ashlin Stephens was named to the fall semester Dean's List at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville

Rachel Woods graduated from Mercer University in May 2004 with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is employed by PI TECH, an engineering firm in Macon.

2000
Kelly Blackwell (BBA), John Kleeman (BBA), Allison Prather (ABJ) and Sharon Valitzski (BSFR) graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2004.

Holly GrooverHolly Groover graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Va. on May 16, 2004 with a BA in physics and minor in mathematics. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with honors in physics. In the spring, Holly won two writing contests, one sponsored by the Undergraduate Virginia Philosophy Association and the other sponsored by the Writing Board of the college. She also traveled to Indiana to present her chemistry research on nitric oxide at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research. This fall, Holly will begin a doctoral program at the University of South Carolina, specializing in the philosophy of quantum theory. She has been awarded a five-year fellowship by the university.

William WhiteWilliam White and the former Katie Wilcox were married on May 22, 2004 in Duluth, Ga. Katie was given in marriage by her father, Rev. Clifford Wilcox, who also performed the ceremony. William is a senior business major at the University of Georgia, and is in Air Force ROTC. Upon Graduation in May 2005, William will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and attend Air Force Pilot Training. Katie is also a senior, majoring in philosophy.

2001
Megan Usher was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society at the University of Georgia. Membership in Golden Key is open to juniors and seniors in the top 15% of their class. Megan has been in the Honors Program since entering UGA and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Susan Fox was named to the fall quarter deans list at Presbyterian College for the fifth consecutive quarter. She continues to be active in volleyball, serving as a student coach for the PC volleyball team, assisting with recruiting and coaching the PC juniors club team. Susan is majoring in Spanish Education and is co-president of the student teachers’ organization. She will spend the Maymester session in Guatemala. Susan is also involved with the Blue Hose orientation program and student union.

2002
Meagan Brower is a theatre major at Armstrong Atlantic State University where she has appeared in many plays. Beginning with the fall semester, Meagan will spend about seven months working at Walt Disney World as a character performer.

2004
Mollie Carter auditioned for the Georgia College & State University Dance Team and was selected for both the competition and basketball squads. She will perform at all home basketball games and compete at national cheer and dance competitions.


November 2004

Crow 1976
Tony Crow and wife Karrie announce the arrival of a baby boy on September 23, 2004. Andrew Reid Crow joins half-siblings Olivia, Meredith, Joshua and Jesse. Tony writes that the Crow household is a true-to-life “Brady Bunch” and there’s never a dull moment!

Albert 1992
Gerrit Albert has been named president of Hampton Hall, a private golf community in Bluffton, S.C. Gerrit’s past experience includes four years with the Branigar Organization/International Paper and Trammel Crowe Company in Brentwood, Tenn. He is a graduate of Furman University and of Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. In 1999, he was named one of the “Top 20 Under 40” community leaders by the Savannah Morning News. Gerrit and his wife Leslie live in Bluffton with their new daughter Neely Jane, born on September 14, 2004.

1993
FanningJoseph Wallace Fanning and Jessica Lane Godley were married on October 2, 2004 at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in Savannah. A reception followed the ceremony at Savannah Station. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and is employed by The Heritage Bank in Hinesville, Ga. He is the owner of Coastal Turf & Landscape Company, Inc.

1994
Aliotta twinsSean and Tiffany Consos Aliotta are happy to announce the birth of twin girls, Hayden Elizabeth and Reagan Page on August 13, 2004. Since Tiffany’s twins were born the day before the Tenth Reunion of the Class of 1994, several of her classmates visited her in the hospital to provide her with a mini-reunion! Sean and Tiffany were married on July 13, 2002 at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.

Melanie Page Consos ‘97 was maid of honor and Krista Moore Bridges '94 and Cindy Nielubowicz Burnsed ’94 were bridesmaids at Sean and Tiffany's wedding. Tiffany graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a BS degree in Education and is working toward her Masters degree in Education. Sean works for Diamed Equipment, Inc. in Savannah.

English Tracy Porter English and husband Drake had a baby girl, Macy Marie English, on June 21, 2004. Tracy graduated from Georgia Southern University and is sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Savannah. Drake owns Southern Curb Appeal landscaping and is a realtor with Coldwell Banker. They were married on September 28, 2002.

Parker and Rexroat Two 94’ alums living in Florida are proud to announce their new additions. The weekend that hurricane Charlie made its way through Fernandina Beach, Natalie Nisbet Parker and husband Andy Parker were blessed with Abigale Lane Parker. Abigale joins two-year-old Riley.

Three weeks later as Frances passed through the Daytona area, Jamie Puccini Rexroat and husband James welcomed Taylor Elizabeth Rexroat. Both mothers and girls are doing great.

1996
Chris Long ‘96 was a groomsman in the recent wedding of Scott Stallcup ’97. He was omitted from the AlumNote in the October issue.

Wade 1999
Jared Daniel Wade and Julie Rebecca Woodard of Tifton were married June 26, 2004, at Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter. A reception followed at the historical Metter Depot. The bride holds a B.S. degree in early childhood education from Georgia Southern University. Jared graduated from GSU in June 2003 with a degree in Industrial Management. He is employed by Leisure Time Pool Products in Savannah. Ed. Note: Jared sent a photo of his bride, saying that Julie is much prettier than he is.

2000
Woodbury Garrett Woodbury married Hannah Seibach of New Hampshire on August 19, 2004. Garrett is a student at Brigham Young University where he is a pre-Med major. Following his first year of studies at BYU, Garrett completed a two-year voluntary mission to the country of Taiwan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in Taiwan, Garrett became fluent in Mandarin Chinese and gained a love for the people of the country. Upon his return from Taiwan, Garrett resumed his education at BYU where he met his new bride. Garrett and Hannah live in Provo, Utah where both are full time students.

Woodbury 2002
Jackie Woodbury is a junior at Southern Virginia University where she is studying Liberal Arts. Jackie has been a cheerleader for SVU for three years and has served as the Stunt Captain for the past two years. She was nominated for SVU Homecoming Queen this fall.
