Class of 1991 Enjoys Ten-Year Reunion

By Brian Dennison, ‘91

The SCPS Class of 1991 held its ten-year reunion on Homecoming weekend.  About 25 enthusiastic classmates attended the festivities.

The reunion kicked off Friday night at the SCPS football game, where class members came out to cheer on the Raiders and enjoy burgers and hot dogs prepared by the Alumni Association. We found that a few things had changed, but an alumna cheerleader noted that many of the cheers were still exactly the same!

Saturday afternoon the classmates and their families enjoyed a cookout at the Chatham Parkway campus. As we toured the campus we were amazed at some of the exciting changes over the past decade.  Past and present teachers Dave Corbett, Sharon Brown and Marcia Welch were there to get the scoop on what everyone is doing these days!

A low country boil catered by Russo's Seafood was enjoyed by all Saturday night at The Landings’ Delegal Marina. Everyone enjoyed laughing at old photos while listening to “our” tunes from high school! Finally, everyone received a directory to keep in touch with old friends.

Special thanks to Jennifer Reiser Griffin '91 for all her work to ensure a good turnout. Thanks also to the SCPS Alumni Association for organizing Saturday’s cookout, especially Eddie Wilson '88, Jamie McCurry '92 and Angela Alcorn '95.
